Shire Posts Profit as Acquisition Costs Not Repeated (Update3) 
Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) — Shire Plc, the U.K.’s third-biggest drugmaker, posted a third-quarter profit as one-time acquisition costs weren’t repeated. Net income was $87.2 million, or 17.3 cents a share, compared with a loss of $630.7 million, or $1.26, Basingstoke, England-based Shire said today.
